6. Why do you want to be staff?

There are a few reasons and probably even more that I forgot to mention:

I really enjoy RexKraft. I love the server both the community and the current staff. I am very glad to have found this server and made it my MC home. As an older player, I found the community very welcoming and helpful when I began here. Since then, I have enjoyed playing here, it feels like "home". I am proud to be part of this community and I would be honoured to be part of the staff team. I enjoy all the staff players as well and don't see any issues that I would have with anyone - I would love to work with the staff team.

I really enjoy helping others. I find that being helpful can be contagious in the sense that when you help someone, many times they, in turn, help others, or often people get together to all help. All these actions help build up the community and enhance players experience's on a server. I love to be part of that.

Being active is important for staff, as it is for the player base. I always believe servers grow and thrive when staff and owners are active and enjoying themselves as well. I am very dependable and active and plan to stay that way. I would make a great staff active member and have many personal projects on the server I still want to work on as well. I am very good at balancing staff vs play time and being able to do both.

Also, I have also always been staff on the servers I have played & in all honesty, I do really enjoy being staff. I love to play the game as a member, but most of all, I do enjoy making a difference to someone, helping out and I enjoy the responsibility that comes with staff roles. I try to watch the chat, communicate and answer questions and be there for both new and current players, it's just something that I have always done.

7. How much time do you have to contribute to the role?

I work full-time Mon - Fri 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. So on weekdays, I am available in the evenings for 2+ hours a night. There are times where I have family nights or date nights with my bf, but these can always be planned around events or other things. Weekends I am available day and night and I often play late into the nights.

8. Do you have a Microphone?

Yes. I am available on discord if needed - almost anytime by text. If I am at work I respond on my breaks and lunch. When I am home, I can come into voice chat if needed, however sometimes my household may be busy and loud, in that case, I would say why I may not be in voice chat. I do use push to talk as well.

9. Do you have any past staff experience?

As mentioned in Question No 6, yes, I have previous staff experience. I have almost always been staff on the servers I have played.

- My first staff position was a helper and I advanced to a moderator. This was a quiet server, mostly vanilla, but did have some plugins. Player count was approx 10-25 players on at all times. It was one world, one economy survival server. The owner had some strict rules that he liked everyone to follow so keeping on that was part of the staff. Some of these rules were the usual chat moderation etc, but also he didn't like hanging trees, there were fines given to players that left hanging trees, griefing etc. This was my first introduction into using core protect. I stopped playing this server as it shut down.

- My next staff position was a bit different and unusual. I found another MC home and was a regular player. I was approached by senior staff and the admin asking me if I wanted to be staff. I worked along with the owner and admins and was given a staff rank that was not noticeable to anyone else. I was asked to keep an eye on the staff players and report back to the owner when they were neglecting their duties and other players. I also had core protect and researched griefs and thefts. I was like an undercover staff and "mystery shopper" haha. I enjoyed my time here, it was a busier server with over 100+ players on at a time. Things went sideways when the owner and admin had a blowout that was very dramatic, based around the donations and server funds and resulted in a server closure.

- I again found a new MC home, after playing for a few months I became staff and was a moderator. This was an economy towny server that usually had between 25-50 players on at a time. I was town assistant of one of the main towns and I did a lot with the shops and new players. I resigned from this staff position due to personal reasons.

- The next server I was a helper, then moderator, then Admin. I enjoyed learning about plugins and the admin side of things, however, this server constantly reset. I think I started over about 5 times while there. The reason I left this server was due to inconsistencies and many full restarts - plus the owner sadly was very unmotivated and losing interest in MC. This server always struggled with player counts, but that mainly was also due to the owner being unmotivated, and very vocal about it to the community - people didn't want to invest in a community they were fearing would close. This server eventually closed down.

- Growing tired of constantly resetting and rebuilding towns and bases, dkhawser and myself opened our own bungee server. We had vanilla, survival, creative and skyblock. We had our server for a year and a half. We enjoyed it however I ran into some financial difficulties and real-life setbacks. We also had some staff issues that were irreparable and thus decided to close the server. It was a learning experience and we have met some great people. We learnt a lot and I learnt lots about plugins etc, however, I don't want to own a server again. haha.

10. How would you deal with a hacker?
Well, I would first try to verify they are indeed hacking. It would depend on what types of hacks too and the type of anti-hack plugins installed or other staff plugins that are installed. And what is available to staff to do - does the rank have /v or /gm3? Is the player using Xray? are they specifically mining ores or digging tunnels a certain way that those with x-ray usually do? are they using a fly hack? auto clicking or afk hack? I would gather what evidence I could, and depending on the situation, warn the player, kick, temp ban if necessary. Do we have a /jail?? lol. It also depends too on what staff is around or available. I would certainly notify higher staff about the situation.

11. How would you deal with a spammer in chat?

I would ask them to stop, remind them of the rules. If that does not work, then mute for a duration, if it continues again, mute for longer - then /kick and/or temp ban. Most of all, other players shouldn't have to experience an unpleasant situation as well, that is why muting is important - to not disrupt other players also.

12. How would you handle a "difficult" player?

Depends on what a "difficult" player is? there are different types. I am extremely patient and kind (I am a mom and grandma!), so some people might think some kids are difficult, but they are young, bored and inexperienced. I would try my best to guide them, help them out, and help teach them ways in the game. I have no problem helping someone providing that I am not taken advantage of. I also believe that it is important to show them things in the game they can do to become more independent. Sometimes inviting them on a mining excursion or something helps - often kids are really just "lonely", bored and inexperienced. Then, you have also trolls and those that join to make staff life difficult. If the rank I had has the option to use /soft mute from griefprevention, well that also always works great with trolls and mouthy players that come on to cause problems.

13. Why should we choose you over other applicants?

Every server I have been staff on has had different ways and guidelines of how they want their staff to handle different types of situations. I am very adaptable to learning the procedures and expectations that are set out for staff to follow. I am not afraid to ask questions or ask for help if need be. I am unbiased and fair to all when it comes to certain situations. I enjoy learning, have great listening skills and I look up to those ranked above me, regardless of ages or other things. I still value seniority and respect decisions made by higher-ups.

I don't break rules and I can handle most situations. I am a trustworthy, dependable, mature person that is also very friendly and open-minded. I am a great team player that is non-judgemental, unbiased and likes to have fun. I work very well with others and get along with mostly everyone. I do not get involved in drama, or toxic behaviour, I can't be bothered with that. I am professional, non-argumentative, and courteous. I love to share ideas and I am a very positive person that is not moody at all. Most of all, I am active and plan to continue to be so, regardless of the decision made if I am staff or not, I still plan to be here and would love to do what I can help out the server and this amazing community.

14. Is there anything else we should know?

I don't think so? If you have any questions at all you can ask me at any time. :)

Thank you for taking the time to read my application. I am always willing to learn and grow. I look forward to your feedback.
